We rely on YouTube. By using SoCurio, you also agree to YouTube's rules. Don't do anything that would get us or you banned there.

Payments are simple & secure

Our payments are securely handled by Lemon Squeezy. "Lifetime" means for the lifespan of SoCurio. Because this is an instant digital upgrade, all sales are final (no refunds).

Don't share illegal, hateful, or harmful content. We will ban trolls without warning.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SoCurio ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

2. YouTube API Services

SoCurio uses YouTube API Services to display video content. By using SoCurio, you are also agreeing to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. We do not host or own the video content; we simply provide a tool to annotate it.

3. User-Generated Content & Licenses

You retain full ownership of the text, notes, and comments you create ("User Content"). However, by creating timestamps and notes on SoCurio, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, and analyze the metadata (e.g., video IDs, timestamp locations, and aggregated anonymous trends) to improve our service, feature popular content, and for future commercial analytics.

4. Payments, Upgrades, and Refunds

SoCurio offers paid features, including a "Lifetime Early Bird" pass.

  • • Merchant of Record: Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Lemon Squeezy. Lemon Squeezy is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. They handle customer service inquiries regarding payments and returns.
  • • Definition of "Lifetime": A "Lifetime" plan grants you access to the specified premium features for as long as the SoCurio service is available and supported by us ("lifetime of the product"). It does not guarantee that the service will be available indefinitely.
  • • Refunds: Due to the nature of digital goods and the immediate unlock of features, we generally do not offer refunds once the account has been upgraded, unless legally required.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use SoCurio to:

  • Share notes or timestamps linking to illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or explicitly offensive video content.
  • Spam the community or artificially inflate the popularity of specific timestamps.
  • Violate any applicable laws or the rights of third parties.

We reserve the right to remove any User Content and terminate or suspend accounts that violate these rules, at our sole discretion, without prior notice. If your account is terminated for violating these terms, you will forfeit any paid access or purchases without a refund.

6. Limitation of Liability

SoCurio is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We are not responsible if a video becomes unavailable on YouTube, or if your notes are lost due to unforeseen technical issues. In no event shall SoCurio or its founders be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
